CALL FOR PAPERS
The Balkan Light 2024 is the 8th Balkan Light Conference with the special topic “Future of Lighting: Efficient and Intelligent” and will take place in Istanbul, Türkiye. Balkan Light Conferences have been held every 3 years and serve as the premier Balkan and international forum in the field of lighting. However, the 8th Balkan Light Conference will be held 6 years later due to the pandemic and economic difficulties. Previous Balkan Light conferences have been held in the following years and locations:
1999 - Varna, Bulgaria
2002 - Istanbul, Türkiye
2005 - Cluj-Napoca, Romania
2008 - Ljubljana, Slovenia
2012 - Belgrade, Serbia
2015 - Athens, Greece
2018 - Sofia, Bulgaria & Varna, Bulgaria
This year, the Balkan Light 2024 will be organized at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Centre on 28-29 November 2024, hosted by the Turkish National Committee on Illumination (ATMK). The Light + Intelligent Building Istanbul fair will be held on 27-29 November 2024 in the same venue as the conference.
KEY TOPICS
In order to overcome the post-pandemic requirements and economic difficulties, papers are requested to be prepared under the following headings.

- Energy efficiency and economics of lighting
- Future of lighting and digitalization
- Human-centric lighting
- Intelligent, smart and innovative lighting
- Interior and exterior lighting design
- Light pollution
- Lighting calculations and measurements
- Lighting education
- Lighting technologies (light sources, luminaires, control systems)
- Photobiology and photochemistry
- Standards and legislation in lighting
- Sustainable lighting
IMPORTANT DATES

Approval of abstracts: 27th May 2024
Full paper submission: 2nd September 2024
Approval of full papers: 30th September 2024
The selected papers will be published in specific journals from Balkan Light countries.
